TELCO is India's largest private sector
company with a turnover of Rs 101.3 billion. It is the
largest automobile manufacturer in India with a market
share of 31.2% in the multi-utility vehicles segment and
6.4% in the
high-end
car segment.
TELCO
has a large supplier base.
There are approximately 1000 suppliers serving TELCO’s
plant in Pune, India alone .
Management of all the busniess information from such a
large supplier base, with conventional means of communications
such as EDI/Telephone/FAX, was slow, time-consuming and
expensive.
TELCO's
answer to the problem was implementing VCM, a web based
solution by Tata Technologies.
This solution provided a cost-effective and efficient
way to help end-to-end flow of information among the various
suppliers of TELCO. The system has a daily hit of around 2000 subscribers from
all over India. The volume of the transactions can be estimated from the fact that
daily about 500 Transporter Vehicles bring in the raw materials
which translates into around 1000 Delivery Orders.
